Thomas Groff, 50, Conger

Memorial services for Thomas James Groff, age 50, of Conger will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Barnett will officiate. Visitation is one hour prior to the services at Bayview.
Tom died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.
Thomas James Groff was born Feb. 13, 1956, to James M. and Shirley L. (Oleson) Groff in Albert Lea. He moved with his family to Austin in 1959 and graduated from Austin High School in 1976. Tom attended Austin Vo-Tech and studied auto mechanics. On May 28, 1991, he was united in marriage to Cindy L. Raisbeck in Albert Lea.
The couple moved to Conger in 1994.
Tom was employed at Farmstead until the plant closed. He loved fishing, stock car racing & NASCAR, and music. Tom was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy of Conger; his mother, Shirley Groff of Austin; sister, Janet (John) Westendorf of Austin; mother-in-law, Jeanette Raisbeck of Beloit, Wis.; nephews, Jeffrey Westendorf, James Westendorf, Scott (Shelly) Freemyer, Matthew (Brenda) Raisbeck, and Kevin Olson; nieces: Michelle Freemyer, Beth Ann Leavitt and Jennifer Leavitt; brothers-in-law, Wayne Freemyer and Larry Raisbeck; sisters-in-law, Marge (Mike) Leavitt, Carol Raisbeck, and Chris Olson; and other nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, James; father-in-law, Charles Raisbeck; sister-in-law, Connie Freemyer; and a niece in infancy.
