Viola Sorensen, 84, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Viola (Miller) Sorensen of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at St Theodore Catholic Church of Albert Lea. The Rev. James Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4 until 7 at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St Theodore Catholic Cemetery.
Mrs. Sorensen died Saturday evening at the Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 84 years of age.
Viola was born the youngest child of Jesse and Helen (Yore) Miller in Martin County, on July 5, 1922. She was a graduate of Granada High School, in Martin County. On Oct. 17, 1945, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Sorensen in Fairmont.
Viola and Lawrence farmed in the Easton area; she cleaned homes and worked for many years as a cook, working at the Skyline Restaurant, Trails Truck Stop and at St John&8217;s Nursing Home until her retirement.
Viola has been a resident of St John&8217;s for the past four plus years.
Viola is survived by her three sons, Andrew (Barb) Sorensen of Albert Lea, Leonard Sorensen of Albert Lea, and John (Hyon) Sorensen of Killeen, Texas; three grandchildren, Kari of Hopkins, and Jason and Jennifer of Honolulu, Hawaii; sister-in-law Arlean Sorensen of Fairmont, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Lawrence; and all of her siblings.
Viola will be missed by all who knew her, being remembered for her kindness and sense of humor.
