A.L. Icemen are victorious, 6-5

The Albert Lea Icemen earned a 6-5 victory against Lakeville in recent action on ice.

The Icemen&8217;s Nate Yentsch started the scoring off with an unassisted goal at 13:05 in first period.

Lakeville took the lead with two goals at 9:58 and again at 4:05 ending

the first period with the 2-1 advantage. Lakeville continued the scoring in the second period with two goals putting the icemen in a sizable hole.

The Icemen would rally back and score three goals in under three minutes to tie the game at four goals apiece at the end of two periods.

Scoring in the second period for the Icemen were Scott Possehl, Phil Runden and Yentsch with assists going to Dalton Hanson and Nick Koza.

The Icemen remained strong during the final period as Runden and Koza would each score another goal to extend their lead holding Lakeville to only one goal in the third period.

Icemen&8217;s Dustin Hafstad had 10 saves in net.

Shots on goal were 28 for the locals to Lakeville’s 10.

The Icemen will next host Inver Grove Heights Red, Saturday at the City Arena for a 3:15 p.m. game.
