Donna Kathleen Kelly Meredith passed away from cancer on Jan. 28, 2007, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She had been visiting her daughter in Dallas when she became ill unexpectedly and returned to Topeka earlier this month.

Donna was born in Albert Lea on Nov. 15, 1929. Her father, Lenard T. Kelly of Albert Lea passed in 1986 and her mother, Gertrude Shure Kelly still lives in Albert

Lea.

Donna was married 57 years to William Lee Meredith who preceded her in death Aug. 28, 2006.

They were married on Nov. 13, 1948, and spent their initial years in Minnesota and South Dakota. They moved to Manhattan, Kan. in 1955 and to Topeka in 1972.

Donna was a dedicated member of Christ the King Church and enjoyed gourmet cooking and being with friends. Donna was also a gifted artist and her oil paintings are treasured by both family and friends. She was a successful homemaker having raised four children, Lynn Meredith and wife, Jan Drury Meredith,

of Pittsburg, Kan.; Linda Meredith Weisbender and husband, David, of Manhattan, Kan.; Josh Meredith and wife, Holly Heinz Meredith, of Ft. Myers, Fla.; and Julie Meredith Waldron and husband, Bill, of Allen, Texas. In addition to her children, she also leaves eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Donna is survived by her sisters, Patricia Kelly Hayek of Albert Lea, Minnesota and Lucinda Kelly Leidman of Tempe, Ariz.

The funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, Feb. 3, at Christ the King Church, Topeka. Inurnment followed at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka, Kan., 66614, was in charge of arrangements.
