Hebrink, Schwartz survive first day at state

DES MOINES, Iowa &8212; Both Lake Mills state wrestling participants Wade Hebrink and Stephan Schwartz made it through the first day of the Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournament Wednesday.
Both wrestlers lost their first match, but bounced back with a win during the wrestlebacks.
Hebrink lost to James Houchins of Interstate-35, Turo at 125 by major decision 21-8, but answered that with a 10-9 win over Justin Machacek of North Linn.
Schwartz lost to Nate Herda of Central Lyon at 135 in the first round before coming back with a pin in the wrestlebacks. Schwartz took care of Corey Ring of Tri-Center with a pin in 2:47.
Both wrestlers are back in action today against opponents to be determined.
