Rena Christensen, 69, Farmington

Funeral services for Rena L. Christensen, age 69, of Farmington will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Roger Davies will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to the services at the church.
Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Rena died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at the Augustana Health Care Center in Hastings.
Rena Loretta Christensen was born May 2, 1937, to Gilbert and Alvina (Lau) Peterson in Northwood, Iowa.
She graduated from Northwood High School. Rena had worked for King Seely and then the Federal Government.
On Dec. 18, 1965, she was united in marriage to James Christensen in Minneapolis.
Rena enjoyed keeping up on current events.
She also loved to cook and work in her flower gardens.
Survivors include her husband, James of Farmington; daughter, Debra Mirzamohammadi of Burnsville; sons, David Christensen and Donald Christensen, both of Farmington; granddaughter, Leah Mirzamohammadi of Burnsville; brothers: Arnold Peterson, Gordon (Linda) Peterson, Palmer (Crystal) Peterson, Lemoine (Pat) Peterson, Gaylord (Darlene) Peterson, Norman (Connie) Peterson, and Maynard (Maxine) Peterson; sisters: Genevieve Kirsch, Dorothy Dempewolf, Marjorie Grigutis, Phyllis Cordera, Belean Johnson, and Loretta Nelson; sister-in-law, Barbara Christensen; brother-in-law, John (Barb) Christensen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rena was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harlan and Arthur; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
