Eleanor Nelson, 86, Rochester

The funeral service for Eleanor Catherine Nelson, of Rochester, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea.
The Rev. James Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Theodore&8217;s Catholic Church or to the donors preferred charity.
Eleanor died Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.
She was 86 years old.
Eleanor was born Dec. 24, 1920, at Wabasha, to John and Hulda (Anderson) Brindel.
She was married to Harold R. Nelson in 1951. Eleanor had lived in Albert Lea, Glenville and since 1964 Rochester.
She was a graduate of Albert Lea High School.
Eleanor was a former member of St. Theodore’s Catholic Church, Albert Lea, until moving to the Rochester area and then joined St. Bridget Catholic Church, Simpson. Eleanor enjoyed life.
She worked hard on the farm. Her other interests included gardening and cooking.
Eleanor is survived by her husband Harold Nelson of Rochester, four sons:
Harold Nelson and his wife Harriet of Rochester, Harlan Nelson and his wife
Darlene of McHenry, Ill., Raymond Nelson of Rochester, and Mark Nelson and his wife Mary of Rochester; 10 grandchildren: John Nelson and his wife Debbie, Carrie Pike and her husband Jerome, Alec, Jennifer Ronnenberg and her husband Dominick, Troy Nelson and his wife Joelene, Carma Connely and her husband Chris, Dustin, Stacy and Randy; 11 great grandchildren;
brother:
Marvin Brindel of Albert Lea and sister, Florence Hendrickson of Albert Lea.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Darlene Nelson; grandson: Stephen Nelson; and 10 brothers and sisters.
