Funeral services for Joyce E. George, 74, of Albert Lea, formerly of International Falls, will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. Joyce died Saturday, March 24, 2007, at her home.
Joyce Elaine George was born on May 11, 1932, in Chisholm, the daughter of Andrew and Siami (Johnson) Simons. She was raised and attended school in Chisholm.
On April 26, 1946, she was united in marriage to Wilfred A. George in International Falls.
She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker all of her life. After the death of her husband, Joyce moved to Albert Lea where she was closer to her children. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching bull riding, birds and all wildlife. She also enjoyed playing the organ and reading.
Joyce is survived by her children, Jim and wife Marilyn George, Owatonna, Lynne and husband Stan Ferrington, Albert Lea, David George, International Falls and Terry and wife Jeanne George, Tucson, Ariz.; three brothers; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and her special friend
and companion, Jim Tilletson, Albert Lea.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one grandson.
