Man arrested for burglary

Police arrested Chad Gulbertson, 35 of Albert Lea, for burglary charges to Albert Lea Crating Company at 10 p.m. Tuesday after conducting a search warrant at his residence in Rainbow Terrace. According to police reports, Albert Lea Crating Company, which is at 1719 Margaretha Ave., had installed a camera system after someone had been breaking into their building at night and taking some tools and shop equipment. The camera caught Gulbertson on the camera. During the search, police recovered some of the shop tools that were reported missing from the company, reports stated.

Windows on squad cars shot out

The back windows of two Albert Lea Police Department squad cars were reported shot out with a bb-gun at 3:57 a.m. Wednesday parked outside the Freeborn County Courthouse, according to police reports. Albert Lea Police Chief Dwaine Winkels said the police are investigating the case.

Man cited for gun

Police arrested Kyle Bell, 20, of Minneapolis for carrying a weapon with a permit and fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance after officers were dispatched to 1333 Abbott St. According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the house after receiving a call that someone was banging on the doors of the residence. When police arrived, they found a vehicle parked in the driveway with three subjects inside of it. After checking the occupants, officers found a .22-caliber loaded Beretta handgun on Bell. He was cited for the gun and for possession of a controlled substance. Also cited for fifth-degree possession was Jared Hernandez of Albert Lea.
