NRHEG boys finish 10th at Redbird Invite

MONTGOMERY &8212; Ryan Panuska tied the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva pole vault record at the Redbird Invite in Montgomery Saturday.

The Panthers finished 10th out of 11 teams at the meet Belle Plaine won, but Panuska jumped 11 feet to finish second in the event. Tim Bartness finished fifth in the event clearing 10 feet, 6 inches.

&8220;Panuska tied the Panther record and Tim also vaulted well and scored in this big meet with some very good competition,&8221; NRHEG co-head coach Mike Weber said.

Travis Wayne finished third in the discus with a throw of 120 feet, 11 inches and went on to add a fourth place showing in the shot put at 38 feet, 6 inches.

&8220;Travis had a breakout meet and Erik Olson was right behind him in the weight events,&8221; Weber said.

David Lindell took fourth in the 110 high hurdles running an 18.9.

The 4×200 team of Bartness, Panuska, Greg Raymaker and Alexander Nicolay took sixth in 1:45.4.

&8220;Greg Raymaker and Alexander Nicolay may not always get the individual recognition, but they are the mainstays on a couple relays,&8221; Weber said. &8220;They came away with solid performances.&8221;

The Panthers are back in action tomorrow when they take part in the Maple River Invite.
