Edward Fosse, 86, Albert Lea

The funeral for Edward F. Fosse, of 233 Green Lea Lane, Albert Lea, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate. Internment will be at the Lakewood Cemetery, Albert Lea. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Bonnerup Funeral Home Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
Edward died at St. John’s Lutheran Home on Tuesday night, May 15, 2007. He was 86.
He was born on April 16, 1921, in Albert Lea, the son of Otto and Agnes (Lageson) Fosse. He graduated from Albert Lea High School. He enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1942, and was honorably discharged in 1945, at the rank of Corporal. He attended Mankato Commercial College from 1945 to 1946.
He worked at Queen Products in Albert Lea for 37 years until his retirement in 1983. He met his beloved wife of 50 years Lorraine Brownlee at Queen Products where she was working as a nurse.
They were united in marriage on Sept.18, 1949, in Grand Rapids.
For more than 23 years Edward and Lorraine lived on a farm north of Twin Lakes where they raised quarter horses. In 1995, they made their home in Albert Lea.
Edward was active in his community. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon, was a member of the Prime Timers and worked for many years in the Church Food Pantry. He was an active member in Kiwanis Golden K-1, where he served as treasurer for many years. He also served as treasurer for the Skate Board Park. He was a participant in the Albert Lea Senior Citizen&8217;s Center and Sons of Norway. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. Edward was a member of the Sunset Saddle Club and SEMSCA for many years.
Edward loved working with horses and watching sports. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and other school activities. He also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, Vikings, Timberwolves and Gopher games and traveling. He especially enjoyed his trip with Lorraine to Australia.
He will be greatly missed by his family: his three children, LeeAnn Fosse of Kenosha, Wis., Marilee Brown and her husband Ray of Albert Lea, and Mark Fosse and his wife Teresa of Rochester; five grandchildren, Stephanie Reyerson and her fianc/ Kelly McCormick of Joice, Iowa, Kristy and her husband Rocky Meyerhoff of Emmons, Kelley Johnson and her fianc/ Shawn Jensen of Albert Lea, Michelle and Ryan Fosse of Rochester; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Damion, and Vanessa Meyerhoff, Drew Folie, Trevor and Bryn Johnson, Maddy and Levi Jensen, April, and Logan McCormick; his sister, Marge and her husband Roy Larsen of Sun City, Ariz.; sister-in-law Bonnie and her husband Elmer Luke of Maple Grove; sister-in-law Gwen Ivancie of Shoreview; brother-in-law James and his wife Lois Brownlee of Long Lake; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lorraine; his brother Vernell; and brother-in-law Johnny Ivancie.
Edward was a very loving, compassionate and caring person. He will be greatly missed and will be fondly remembered.
