Imogene Kathryn (Minish) Brooks, 85, of Hudson, Wis., formerly of Albert Lea and Cedar Falls, Iowa, died on Friday, April 27, 2007, at the Christian Community Home.
Imogene was born on March 24, 1922, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, to Clifford and Sarah Alice (Wyatt) Minish. She was married to Paul E. Brooks on July 29, 1946. They lived in Waterloo, Iowa, until they moved to Cedar Falls in 1956. After being a stay-at-home mother and raising two daughters and a move in 1967 to Albert Lea, she started a working career at a jewelry store in Albert Lea. She later worked at several schools as a secretary. For the last several years she has resided in Hudson, Wis.
Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her parents; one brother; and two sisters.
Imogene is survived by her daughters, Carol (Robert) Benish of Hudson, Wis., and Janine (Learl) McDonald of Mendota, Ill.; grandsons, Chad (Wendy) Gasca of St Bonifacius, and Ryan Gasca of Minneapolis; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Elizabeth Gasca; brother, Wayne Minish of Albuquerque, N.M.; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Christian Community Home Atrium. A private family burial will be held at the Willow River Cemetery.
