Lyle Wayne, 77, Ellendale

Funeral services for Lyle S. Wayne, 77, of Ellendale, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Community Lutheran Church of Geneva. The Rev. Joel Xavier will officiate. Interment will be in the Geneva Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the Church.
Lyle died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at the New Richland Care Center.
Lyle Spencer Wayne was born June 20, 1929, to Manfred and Orley (Lestrud) Wayne in Albert Lea. He graduated from Ellendale High School in 1947 and had been a resident of the area his entire life. On Feb. 4, 1951, Lyle was united in marriage to Helen T. Clementson in Hartland. The couple farmed in rural Ellendale until 1994. In 1978, they moved to the Thompson Oaks in Ellendale. Lyle was a lifetime member of Community Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Steele-Waseca Cooperative Electric for 35 years and the Cooperative Power Assn. for many years. Lyle enjoyed spending time visiting with his family and many friends. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time in Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
Survivors include his sons: Greg and wife, Holly Wayne, Brian and wife, Jodi Wayne, David and wife, Linda Wayne, and Tom and wife, Kari Wayne, all of Ellendale; grandchildren: Brandon (Jodi), Nicholas (Katie), Melissa, Heather, Nathan (Linnea), Ashley (Brandon), Dustin, Alex, Lexi, Jet, and Tali; great-granddaughter, Eva; sisters, Donna (Floyd) Walker of Folsom, Calif., and Lois (Roxy) Westcott of Longmont, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Helen on Feb. 18, 2005.
