New homes dominate local building permits

April&8217;s reports from the city&8217;s Inspection Department and the Freeborn County Planning and Zoning Office show building permits were issued for eight new living units.
The city&8217;s report lists permits being issued for three single family dwellings and a duplex. This report also lists a total of 51 building permits being issued in April with a valuation of $1,414,403. Thus, the total valuation for the first four months of the year is increased to $4,223,653.32.
At the end of April 2006 the report lists a building permit total of $4,366,676.
The county&8217;s report lists 16 permits being issued during April with an estimated valuation of $483,252. This increases the listed valuation for building permits to $1,586,078 for the first four months of the year.
There were permits for three new homes and two home additions issued by the county during April.
