Susan Marlene Anderson, 67, of New Richland, and formerly of Yankton, S.D., died Sunday, May 6, 2007, at the New Richland Care Center.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with the Rev. David Gunderson officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. Visitation with the family present is from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Paul Anderson, Johnny Keegan, John Lynch, Tim Matthews, Eric Riedlinger and John Riedlinger.
Susan was born June 11, 1939, in Yankton, to Walter and Lillian (Nohava) Lane. She grew up and attended school in Yankton. In 1956, Susan married Warren Anderson. They moved to Rochester in 1973 and lived there for nine years. After their divorce, Susan moved back to Yankton and worked at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in the dietary department. She later retired to Minnesota to be closer to her children. Susan loved all kinds of birds. She enjoyed her flowers and also liked gardening and baking.
Survivors include four children: Jim (Shawn) Anderson of Lake City, Jean (John) Riedlinger of Clarks Grove, Debbie (Denis) Nelson of Rochester and Jamie (John) Lynch of Racine; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters: Barb Lane of Yankton and JoAnn (Terry) List of Yankton; one brother, Tom Lane of North Sioux City, S.D.; and a brother-in-law, Buster Keegan of Sioux City, Iowa.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Keegan; and a brother, James Lane.
