MANTORVILLE &8212; The Albert Lea VFW baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader Saturday against Mantorville. Albert Lea lost the first game 8-1 and the nightcap 4-2.

Albert Lea had two problems in the first game with pitchers issuing seven walks and hitting a pair of batters as well as three plays at home plate that all went against Albert Lea.

Jordan Cooper had an RBI single, Logan Kortan had a double and Cody Hansen played a strong third base.

Luke Grossman pitched four innings of strong relief in the second game giving up just one run on two hits.

Nikko Grace had a hit and an RBI in the game.

The VFW team is back in action Wednesday when it hosts Owatonna at 5 p.m.
