A force on the hardwood for Glenville-Emmons in recent seasons will suit up for Division-III Wisconsin-Stout this fall. Jarrad Knutson has made a verbal commitment to play basketball for the Blue Devils this winter and intends to pursue golf enterprise management.

Knutson, who averaged 23.3 points last season for Glenville-Emmons, holds the school&8217;s individual game scoring record (41 points), the single season scoring record (632 points) and the career scoring record (1,568). All three records were previously held by 1999 G-E standout Justin Davis.

A versatile player, Knutson set a school record last season for most free throws in a game, hitting 21-of-23 against Southeast Conference rival Lyle/Pacelli. When he knocked down 41 points against the Minnesota Academy of the Deaf, he drained six 3-pointers. Knutson, who averaged 11.6 rebounds per contest during his senior year, is second in school history in career rebounds. The Wolverines finished at 9-18 last season following Knutson&8217;s junior year, in which Glenville-Emmons set a school record for wins with a 20-7 mark.

Said Stout coach Eddie Andrist: &8220;Jarrad is easily one of the more versatile athletes that we will bring to the Blue Devil program. He is a scorer and a shooter and has the body size to defend inside and the quickness to defend outside.&8221;

Together with his double-digit scoring and rebounding averages, Knutson totaled 4.3 assists per game and 2.6 steals per contest. Knutson was the Tribune&8217;s co-basketball player of the year and was a two-time all-area first team selection. He twice earned a spot on the Southeast Conference&8217;s first team.

UW-Stout finished the 2006-07 season at 12-13 overall.
