Funeral services for Hubert A. Indrelie, 88, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Hubert died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home.
Hubert Arnold Indrelie was born on July 4, 1919, to Henry and Bertha (Hatleli) Indrelie in Lisbon, N.D. He was baptized, Aug. 17, 1919, and confirmed, May 25, 1934, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisbon. Hubert attended rural school in North Dakota. As a young man, he &8220;broke horses.&8221; He married Ruth Howey on March 22, 1940, in Lisbon. They came to Manchester in 1942 where they farmed. In 1959, the couple moved to Albert Lea where Hubert was employed as a carpenter and maintenance man for the Albert Lea Medical Center. Hubert was very mechanically inclined. He enjoyed woodworking, making different items for his grandchildren and loved gardening for his family and friends. Hubert taught his children the value of &8220;love and respect.&8221; Hubert and Ruth loved to travel and enjoyed many trips in their motorhome.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; son, Wayne (Bev) Indrelie of Albert Lea, daughters: Judy (Cal) Johnson of Watertown, Janet (Norman) Clapsaddle of Maple Plain, Norma (Marlin) Carlson of New Brighton, Kathleen (David) May, Ramsey; son-in-law, Earl Haaland of Ft. Myers, Fla.; sister, Alice Heinonen, St. Louis Park; grandchildren; Kenneth (Anne) Indrelie, Richard (Judy) Indrelie, David(Roanne) Johnson, Karin (David) Wald, Diane (Kyle) Kottke, Jeanine Clapsaddle, Teresa (Tom) Dainsberg, Michael Clapsaddle, Brian Clapsaddle, Kelly (Bob) Brewer, Jennifer (Bob) Anderson, Aaron (Jennifer) Carlson, Heidi (Desmond) Dodd, Douglas (Stephanie) Haaland, Angela (Tom) Morgan, Heather May, Ryan May, and Dustin May; 24 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Marilyn Haaland; great-grandson, Grant Anderson, brothers, Ole, Hans, Eddie, and Sidney; and sisters, Martha, Carrie, and Marie.
Hubert will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
