Lucian Todd, 89, Waverly, Iowa

Lucian H. Todd was born on Oct. 11, 1917, in Mankato, the son of Clarence and Katie Todd. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II from March 4, 1942, until Jan. 31, 1946. Lucian was employed as a supervisor with Harry Hendley and Sons Construction in Minnesota for 40 years. He married June L. Collins on Aug. 5, 1972. After retiring, Lucian worked at Byrnes Park Golf Course for five years. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Lucian passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at the Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community at the age of 89 from natural causes.
He is preceded in death by two infants; a son Jeff Todd who drowned while he was in the Marines; two brothers; and four sisters.
Lucian is survived by his wife June of Waverly, Iowa; two daughters: Linda and Pete Murphy of Rochester, and Diane and Greg Gonier of Coon Rapids; two step sons: Dan and Karen Bravender of Melba, Idaho, and Craig and Valerie Bravender of Waterloo, Iowa; two step daughters: Candy and Jim Hundley of Waverly, Iowa, and Renee and Tom Lloyd of Waverly, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly, Iowa. There will be no visitation.
