Walter C. Brandt, 96, of Austin, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center in Austin.
Walter Clarence Brandt was born July 27, 1911, to Ferdinand and Emma (Beuthien) Brandt in Worthington. They later moved to the Hayward area. On Feb. 13, 1983, he was united in marriage to Tressa Wradislavsky at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Church in Austin where he is still a member. Walter was a lifetime farmer, living on his farm south of Oakland until moving into Austin in 1971.
He always enjoyed playing cards and watching &8220;The Price is Right&8221; and &8220;60 Minutes&8221; on television.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Tressa, in 1998, parents, brothers Leonard, Raymond, and Helmer Brandt; sisters, Bertha Cafourek, Audrey Watkins, Elva Jochumsen and LoVonna Glassel.
Walter is survived by: Sons and daughters-in-law: LeRoy and Shirley Brandt, Austin; Wayne and Cheryl Brandt, Austin; Grandsons, Allen Brandt, Austin; Brian Brandt and his wife, Jolene, Austin, Michael Brandt and his wife Wendy, Austin, Jamie Brandt, Shakopee; Great Grandchildren, Jacob Brandt, Kelsey Brandt, Robin Brandt, Nick Brandt and Ashlyn Brandt; Brother Edmund Brandt and his wife Alberta of Albert Lea; Sisters, Loretta Brandt, Wells; Edna Darnel and her husband Olin of Vista, Calif.; Sister-in-law, Helen Brandt of Hayward; Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Natzke officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and at the church one hour before the service.
