Have you visited the Quick Vote at AlbertLeaTribune.com?
As of this morning, 313 had voted and the supporters of the school levy that appears on the Nov. 6 ballot in Albert Lea seem to be winning.
This is what the Quick Vote says:
&8220;The Albert Lea School District asks voters two questions about its operating levy. The first asks to increase general revenue to $869 per pupil. If a person votes yes on the first, they can proceed to the second question. The second asks to increase it further by $89 per pupil. How will you vote:
&8220;A. No.
&8220;B. Yes, then no
&8220;C. Yes, then yes&8221;
Of the votes, 76.4 percent stood in favor of option C. 18.5 percent supported option A, and only 5.1 percent liked option B.
Does this mean the referendum levy will pass?
Not necessarily. The Quick Vote is an unscientific poll and some online readers don&8217;t live in the school district, but the Quick Vote does serve as a snapshot of opinion &8212; an item to prompt discussion of key issues.
We encourage people to go to the Quick Vote and share their viewpoint on the Albert Lea school referendum.
And thanks to those who voted, for you exercised your freedom of speech.
