Karen Talamantez, 67 of Wells, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. The Rev. Meg Sander will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, with a 5 p.m. prayer service by the Wells VFW Auxiliary, and visitation continuing one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells.
Karen Lee Talamantez was born Aug. 12, 1940, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Maurice and Carmen (Kaiser) Thompson. On July 2, 1960, Karen was united in marriage to David Talamantez in Easton. The couple lived their entire married life in Wells. Karen worked a variety of jobs, although her favorite was her 11 years at Sears in Mankato. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. Karen enjoyed life. She loved her family, spending time with her friends and being active in her grandchildren’s lives.
She is survived by her adoring husband and best friend, David of Wells; her four children to whom she was always a loving and devoted mother: Anthony &8220;Tony&8221; Talamantez of Mankato, Juliene (Talamantez) Lindblom of Minnesota Lake, Susan and her husband Daniel Salava of Woodbury and Nancy Talamantez of New Richland; six grandchildren: David and Christopher Talamantez; Kyle and Cameron Lindblom; Adele and Joseph Salava; one great-grandson: Brayden (Talamantez) Savage; brothers and sisters-in-law: Frank and Abraham Talamantez of Colorado, Glenda Saldana and Joseph Talamantez of Texas, Patrick,Chester, Kathy, Steve and Linda Talamantez of California; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
