Margaret Stuhr, 83, Austin

Margaret Katherine Stuhr, 83, of Austin, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Margaret was born Aug. 10, 1924, in Rose Creek, to John and Kathryn (Mullenbach) Fink. On April 14, 1943, she was united in marriage to Arnold Stuhr. He preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1986.

Margaret was a retired employee of Hormel Foods having worked for 40 years. She enjoyed cooking for her family, traveling around the United States with her husband in their RV, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, and being with her sister Myrt and her family. Margaret was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and she was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (Tom) Laite, Albert Lea; granddaughter, Christi Chirpich, Albert Lea; great-grandchildren, Tara and Ryan Chirpich, Albert Lea; sister, Myrtle Tesdahl, Austin; sister-in-law, Alvina Stuhr, Austin; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; and sisters, Dorothy, Donna, Mildred and Kathy.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Fogal officiating. There will be a 4 p.m. CCW rosary and a 6:30 p.m. wake service on Tuesday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. and also from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

The casket bearers will be Terry Lahann, Dennis Guttormson, Donald Miller, Gary Miller, Steve Miller and Al Crom.
