Memorial services for Elaine E. Engel, 63, of Freeborn, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at West Freeborn Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Dennis Frank will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Elaine died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Elaine E. Engel was born on April 28, 1944, to Ervin and Hazel (Siebert) Roemhildt in Kilkenny. Elaine married Russell D. Engel Sr. on June 10, 1967, in Northwood. Iowa. She has been a resident of Freeborn County for the last 40 years. Elaine was an Avon Lady for 35 years and a waitress for many years in Waseca and Freeborn counties. She also worked for Michaels, Gametec, and for the last several years at Itron.

Survivors include her husband, Russell; children Mark (Kathy) Engel of Hartland and their children Travis and Meridee, Russell (Rusty) Jr. of Freeborn, Jeremy Engel of Owatonna; her mother, Hazel Roemhildt of Waseca; brothers, Kenneth (Aino)Roemhildt and their six children, Gerald Roemhildt, Donald (Carol) Roemhildt and their two children, and Charles Roemhildt and his three children all of Cordova, Ark.; sisters, Janice (Tom) Pochert and their daughter of Browns Valley, Calif., Karen Evans and her two children of Waseca, and Carmen (James) Haley and their two children of Lino Lakes.

Elaine was preceded in death by her father, Ervin Roemhildt; brother-in-law, Roger Evans; mother and father-in-law, Addie and George Engel.

Elaine will be dearly missed by her many friends and her family.
