High-speed chase ends near Wells

Police took a 17-year-old male into custody this morning after a high-speed chase on Interstate 90 that initiated in Albert Lea.
According to police reports, an Albert Lea police officer was parked near the intersection of Lakeview Boulevard and Richway Avenue when he recognized a green Chevy Tahoe drive by that had been reported missing since Sunday.
The officer followed the vehicle until the 1700th block of Sunset Street when the vehicle stopped. When the officer got out of his vehicle to approach the car, the other vehicle sped up again onto State Highway 13 and then to Interstate 90.
The vehicle continued at a high rate of speed into Faribault County, where it finally stopped at the 134th mile marker just past the Wells exit.
The driver was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and fleeing a police officer.
The three passengers &8212; a 15-year-old female, 16-year-old female and 16-year-old male &8212; were cited for curfew violations.
St. Cloud vehicle recovered in Albert Lea
A vehicle reported stolen out of St. Cloud was recovered in the Super 8 Motel parking lot in Albert Lea at 5:15 a.m. today. Officers impounded the vehicle, according to reports.
Several arrested for DWI
Police arrested Gilberto Bermudez with fourth-degree DWI and driving after suspension charges at 12:49 a.m. Saturday after a traffic stop at West Main Street and St. Mary Avenue, according to reports.
Police arrested Juan Francisco Gallegos Padilla, 27, for DWI charges after receiving a careless driving complaint at 4:24 p.m. Saturday, reports stated.
The Freeborn County Sheriff&8217;s Office arrested Oscar Harold Mehus for third-degree DWI charges at 1:23 a.m. today after a traffic stop near the Office Bar in Glenville, reports stated.
Man cited
Police cited Jacob Alan Gardner, 20, with illegal consumption at 1:20 a.m. Sunday after a traffic stop at Clark Street and Elizabeth Avenue, according to reports.
Stereo stolen
A stereo was reported stolen out of a vehicle on the 600 block of Fifth Street at 2:23 p.m. Sunday, according to reports.
Break-in reported
An attempted break-in was reported to a building on the 300 block of East Eighth Street, according to reports.
