Offense strong for Tigers in win

WASECA &8212; The Albert Lea boys&8217; hockey team opened its season with an impressive 6-2 win over Waseca Tuesday.
The Tigers scored five goals in the second period to take a 6-0 lead before Waseca scored two goals in the third to reach the final margin.
Adam Royce opened up the scoring on the season for the Tigers finding the back of the net just 27 sections into the game off an assist from Grant Stadheim.
Royce and Casey Woodside would team up 33 seconds into the second period with Royce basting the puck past the goalie to make it 2-0.
Mike Falk assisted on the Tigers&8217; next two goals with the first going to Tyler Brackey and Stadheim claiming the next.
A little more than a minute later it was Parker Stanley scoring with assists going to Royce and Casey Marka
before Stadheim recorded his third point of the night with a goal off a Woodside assist.
Ben Waalkens stopped 20 of the 22 shots he faced in net for Albert Lea as the Tigers outshot the Bluejays 43-22.
The Tigers will look to continue their good start Tuesday when they travel to Austin for a Big Nine Conference showdown.
