Bruce Wallace, 90, Medford, Ore.

Bruce R. Wallace, 90, former resident of Albert Lea, passed away at his home in Medford, Ore., on Dec. 16, 2007. He was the former owner and president of the Wallace&8217;s stores in Albert Lea, Austin, Fairmont and Willmar.
He was the son of Robert &8220;Bob&8221; Wallace and Edna Colton Wallace of Fairmont. His parents and his sister Gloria Spence preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 66 years &8220;Fran&8221;; son Robert &8220;Bob&8221; (Catherine) of Fairmont; daughter Kay (Dennis) Lair of Medford, Ore.; three grandchildren, Kevin (Jen) Lair of Bend, Ore., Kristin (Erik) Peterson of Medford, Ore., and Debra Wallace of Santa Cruz, Calif., and her mother Julie of San Marcos, Calif.
In addition he is survived by three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Wallace was born in Fairmont and graduated from Fairmont High School.
He served three years in the Army Air Corps during World War II, two of those years spent in the South Pacific. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, a Rotarian, a Mason, a Shriner, a member of the American Legion, Chamber of Commerce and life member of the Elks Lodge.
After retiring, he and Fran moved to Lake San Marcos, Calif., where they lived for twenty years. In April of 2003 they moved to 822 Golfview #102, Medford, Ore., to be closer to family. Though many miles away, Albert Lea was still always considered home.
The family has requested that any memorials be sent to Christ Episcopal Church, 204 Fountain St., Albert Lea, MN, 56007, to your local Hospice Program or a charity of your choice.
