Edna Thomas

Edna E. Thomas, 100, of 1201 Garfield Av., Albert Lea died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007 at Thornecrest Retirement Center.
The funeral service for Edna will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. The Rev. Jamie Cameron will officiate. Interment will be in Clarks Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Edna was born October 3, 1907 in Ashley, N. D., to William and Katherine (Koth) Stading.
Edna grew up in the Ashley and Wishek, N. D., area. She graduated from Wishek High School, Wishek, N. D. in 1925. She then attended Valley City, North Dakota Normal School. She taught rural schools in the Wishek area for five years and then entered Northwestern Bible College in Minneapolis and graduated in 1933. Edna married Reverend George A. Thomas of Rock Island, Ill. on Aug. 9, 1934 at Jessup, Iowa, and was very supportive to her husband&8217;s ministry. Edna enjoyed music both singing and playing the piano. She also enjoyed cooking and crocheting.
Edna is survived by her son, Paul Thomas and his wife Angela of Dassel; grandchildren William Thomas and his wife Rebecca of Maple Grove; Steven Fenske and his wife Shelly of Cottage Grove; Susan Fenske of Bethesda Home, Watertown, Wis.; and Sonia Lancaster and her husband Redgie of Fort Wayne, Ind.; great-grandchildren Rachel Renee Fenske of Cottage Grove; Emma Noelle Lancaster of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Ethan Thomas Lancaster of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three sisters Eloise Heidkross of Sheffield, Iowa; Barbara Thomas of Rock Island, Ill.; and Alice Stading of Mason City, Iowa.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Connie Fenske; granddaughter, Tammy Fenske; sisters: Viola Kautz, Gertrude Niehaus and Eleanor Stading.
