The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream. Do you know what it is? Many people to this day know he had a dream but few can name what it was?
It was the American dream.
It was that this nation would live up to its creed: &8220;We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.&8221;
He spells out in his famous &8220;I have a dream&8221; speech many examples of how America should rise up and live up to the dream.
But one line in particular holds special meaning for most who hear that speech in recordings. It is this one:
&8220;I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.&8221;
Are you living up to King&8217;s dream? Are your children?
He made the point that it is not until this nation lives up to that dream will it truly be free, free at last.
