Vikings fall to Rockwell-Swaledale

NORTHWOOD &8212; The Northwood-Kensett girls&8217; basketball team let a 10-point halftime advantage slip away from it Tuesday night against Corn Bowl opponent Rockwell-Swaledale and fell by four, 42-38.

The Vikings led 27-17 at the break but let their conference rival go to the charity stripe almost twice as many times as they did as they were outscored by six at the line.

Kate Hartman continues to be the Vikings&8217; biggest scoring threat with a game-high 16 points while Kjirsti Davidson chipped in with eight.

A win would have pulled the Vikings to .500 on the year but they fall instead to 9-11 overall and 4-9 in the Corn Bowl Conference.

N-K will start district playoffs Thursday when they face Riceville in Riceville.
