Editorial: Have you noticed the changes?

You&8217;ve probably noticed a few changes to your Albert Lea Tribune in the past month. We hope you like them. The Tribune staff not only is excited to have newer presses than before, it is thrilled to give you a better newspaper as a result.
Let&8217;s go through some of the changes together:
– There are more full-color pages than before. This is probably is the most noticeable change. People have given compliments especially on marriage and engagements in color in the Lifestyles section on Sundays and on the obituary photos in color on Page 3 every day. Plus, more of the advertisements for the products and services you buy are displayed in full color, helping you make better spending decisions.
– Sports now prints on the back page of the weekday editions. Before, the page sort of floated around to different locations inside the paper. Now, it has a dedicated home. This allows you to find it quickly and, of course, lets us use color photographs of your sons and daughters on sports teams. You might notice the stories on the Sports page will occassionally continue from the back inward. That might take a little getting used to.
– Of course, the Sports section in the Sunday edition remains as before, but now the Classifieds section can be found at the back of the Sports section. In other words, instead of two small sections, they are now one larger section.
– Weather remains in color, but it now can be found most weekdays on the second-to-last page of the paper, instead of the back. This allows us to put Sports on the back while keeping a color weather page.
– On many of the publications the Tribune prints, such as the Spring Home Improvement tabloid inside tomorrow&8217;s newspaper, readers will notice more color than before. We are excited to use all the great capabilities of our new set of presses because they are not just an investment in our company but also an investment in the community. We are proud to be your newspaper.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for carrying on a time-tested Albert Lea area tradition. We have been your hometown newspaper for 110 years, and we look forward to the next 110 years.
