Freeborn County to celebrate Daffodil Days March 10-15

The American Cancer Society Daffodil Days will be held in Freeborn County March 10 to March 15. The daffodil is a celebration of renewed life and the coming of spring.
Beth Spande coordinator for Freeborn County, announced the following chairwomen for this year&8217;s event: Pre-sale &8212; Lenore Fries and Pat Johannsen, Albert Lea Medical Center sales &8212; Lorna South, nursing home sales &8212;
Sue Olson, school presales &8212; Julie Gilbertson, on-site sales &8212; Beth Spande and RSVP, and bagging and distribution &8212; Lilah Aas and Rosalie Block.
The American Legion in Albert Lea will again serve as daffodil headquarters.
Daffodils will be available during the week in rural areas and Friday and Saturday in Albert Lea at local banks, grocery stores and Northbridge Mall. 2008 also marks the addition of Bear R. Hope, a special Boyds Bear designed exclusively for Daffodil Days. The Gift of Hope, a bouquet of daffodils in a vase, can be ordered and delivered to a cancer patient of your choice in a hospital, treatment center or church.
If you have not been contacted for pre-orders, stop at Senior Resources, Skyline Mall, in the afternoon and order with Lenore Fries.
