Kathryn Boettcher, 99, Kiester

Kathryn Boettcher, 99, of Kiester, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Parkview Care Center in Wells. Memorial services will at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior&8217;s Lutheran Church in Kiester. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rev. Dick Steffen will officiate and burial will be in Our Savior&8217;s Lutheran Cemetery in Kiester.
Kathryn L. Boettcher was born March 26, 1908, the daughter of Mens and Lorine Madelia (Ofstaas) Loberg in Pingree, N.D. She attended schools in Hawick, Lake Mills, Iowa, Albert Lea, and graduated from Emmons High School in 1926. She was married to Victor T. Boettcher on June 12, 1926. Together they farmed in the Kiester area most of their married lives, retiring in 1960. Kathryn was a charter member of the Kiester Senior Citizens. She had been a resident at The Shepherd&8217;s Inn in Wells since December of 2004. She enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, and sewed many quilts. She and Vic also enjoyed collecting antiques. Kathryn especially enjoyed time spent with her family.
Kathryn is survived by two daughters: June Scherb of Kiester, and Glenda (husband Virgil) Yost of Walters; eight grandchildren: Nola (Brian) Relay of White Bear Lake, Tamra (David) Albers of Faribault, Grant Scherb of Kiester, Daniel and Clayton Boettcher of Northwood, Iowa, Larry Yost of Walters, Darrell (Kristi) Yost of Kiester, Deanne Yost and fianc/ Steven Walk of Kiester; 12 great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one step great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law: Phyllis (Allan &8220;Bud&8221;) Goodmanson; her husband in 1970; son Lee in 1996; son-in-law, Alvin Scherb; and baby grandson, Nyle Scott Scherb.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor&8217;s choice or to Our Savior&8217;s
Lutheran Church in Kiester.
