To encourage students to select this career path, FMCS is offering two $1,000 scholarships. To obtain a scholarship application, contact an area high school or the FMCS office.
The application deadline is June 16. Scholarship eligibility is open to FMCS members and non-members enrolling in a lineworker program. However, in awarding scholarships, preference will be given to FMCS members and Freeborn or Mower County residents. Students places on a waiting list for a lineworker program are still eligible to apply. FMCS will hold scholarship awards if presented with proof that a student is on a waiting list for the next enrollment period.
The scholarships are funded by unclaimed capital credits in accordance with state law for unclaimed property.
