Nelson&8217;s Market Place, located at 430 NW Second Ave. in Faribault, was recently selected as one of the grand-prize winners of the Nash Finch/Our Family Truckload Sale promotion. Our Family is a century-old brand offered by Nash Finch Company, Nelson&8217;s food distribution partner.

As grand prize winner, Nelson&8217;s received a truckload of free Our Family products on Friday. In turn, Nelson&8217;s will donate six pallets of Our Family products, representing 8,135 pounds, to the Faribault Food Shelf. Nelson&8217;s will use this donation to kick off a monthlong campaign to raise 25,000 pounds of food to replenish the local food shelf.

&8220;We are very pleased to be selected as a grand-prize winner of the Truckload Sale by Nash Finch and Our Family brands,&8221; said Chris Nelson, owner of Nelson&8217;s Market Place. &8220;And, we are even more excited to use some of the products we receive as a prize to give back to those in need in Faribault. We encourage the community to join with us in making a difference by helping stock the Faribault Food Shelf with much-needed food. I also want to recognize our store manager, Casey Conor, for his instrumental role in pulling this together.&8221;

Shoppers will be able to participate in the food drive by dropping off food and by purchasing pre-assembled bags of Our Family product for a donation of $5 per bag. All bags purchased will be accumulated toward the goal of 25,000 pounds of food and will be donated to the food shelf at the end of March.

Nelson&8217;s will also share its accomplishment with customers by offering one free Our Family item with a $25 purchase for six weeks. &8220;We very much appreciate our loyal customers and want to let them share in our reward,&8221; Nelson said.

Nelson&8217;s Market Place owns two stores located in Faribault and Albert Lea.
