Editor&8217;s note: Albert Lea Tribune Publisher Scott Schmeltzer is a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers and quarterback Brett Favre. Tribune Sports Editor Jeff Budlong has even described Schemltzer as having a &8220;man crush&8221; on Favre.
In his lament over Favre&8217;s retirement, Schmeltzer wrote the following poem &8212; for fun &8212; and he was willing to share it with readers.
&8220;The Greatest Quarterback&8221;
By Scott Schmeltzer, Publisher
B is for the Blue-collar approach he played the game.
R is for the Rifle that he had for an arm.
E is for the Energy he brought to the Packer fans.
T is for the Terror he gave all Viking fans.
T is for True, which he was to his wife and to himself.
F is for the Fan he was for the game of football.
A is for Always having fun!
V is for the Vikings. They might be able to win a game now.
R is for Remembering all the highlights.
E is for Enormous &8212; the void he will leave Packer fans.
You add them together and you get the greatest quarterback to ever live.
Thanks, Brett.
