Bryan Wittmer, 49, Alden

Funeral services for Bryan Alan Wittmer, 49, of Alden, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Alden. The Rev. Gregory Ofsdahl will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service.
Bryan died Monday, April 14, 2008, at Good Samaritan Center, Albert Lea, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Bryan Alan Wittmer was born on March 7, 1959, to Marvin and Daphne (Wangen) Wittmer in Albert Lea. He attended school in the Alden-Conger district and won many awards in wrestling. Bryan lived in the Alden area his entire life. Right after high school he farmed with his father for a couple years.
Bryan then drove truck for several trucking companies. He then worked for the Alden Elevator for several years until his last job, at Wells Concrete as a truck driver. Bryan spent 18 years with his fianc/ Debbie Jacobsen. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden. Bryan dearly loved his children, grandchildren and step children. He enjoyed camping, gardening, hunting, fishing, playing cards and his dogs, Teddy Bear and Maggie May.
Survivors include his fianc/, Debbie Jacobsen; children, Julie Wittmer and friend Mike of Wells, Jaymie (Matt) Carolan of Dodge Center, Amber (Randy) Halvorsen of Emmons, Brady Bye and fianc/ Sara Weber of Wells; grandchildren, Bayley and Kayla Halvorsen, and Kyle Carolan; mother, Daphne Wittmer of Albert Lea; siblings, Lynn (Steve) Lunning, Mark Wittmer of Texas, and Dean Wittmer of Owatonna; and special friend Dan Yokiel of Waseca; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bryan was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Wittmer; son, Joseph Wittmer; and grandparents.
