Comedy Live is returning to the Albert Lea American Legion Friday at 8 p.m.

Comedy Live is produced by Albert Lea&8217;s Jeff Polis, who produces shows in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa.

&8220;This is the fourth year I have been bringing shows to Albert Lea. It really works out great because I don&8217;t have to drive anywhere &8212; no just kidding &8212; people are always telling me how fun these shows are and it&8217;s great they don&8217;t even have to leave town. I think as long as Albert Lea keeps supporting Comedy Live, I will keep bringing it to Albert Lea,&8221; Polis said.

Hosting the show is Del Point from Waterville. Point had a morning radio show in Owatonna where he did many different characters. He&8217;ll bring those to the stage.

&8220;I have worked with Del many times and the way he tells a story keeps you wanting more&8221; Polis said.

Polis himself will be featured in the show. &8220;I recently tried out for the TV show &8216;Last Comic Standing&8217;,&8221; Polis said. &8220;I did not make the program, but I did get interviewed by the host of the show, Bill Bellamy. I hope the interview makes it to the program.&8221;

Polis has opened for Louie Anderson, Diane Ford, Jeff Cesario and Nick Swardson. &8220;My comedy is observational humor, like when I went to the gym and saw a lady wearing a bike helmet on the stationary bike. I wanted to show her how silly she looked so the next day I wore a life jacket on the rowing machine,&8221; Polis explained.

&8220;I really would like everyone to come out and support live comedy,&8221; he added.

The headliner of show is Craig Allen, who delights in &8220;turning the mundane into the insane.&8221; It&8217;s been said &8220;His twisted logic would make a Vulcan cry with laughter.&8221;

A respected comedic writer, Allen has quickly become a staple of morning radio shows. Craig can be heard regularly on XM Satellite Radio. He recently made his live national radio debut on &8220;The Bob and Tom Show,&8221; heard by several million people daily. Originally slated for a short 15-minute segment, Bob and Tom liked Craig so much that they kept him on for nearly two hours!
