Lake Mills blanked North Sentral Kossuth 9-0 Monday in its first game of the season at home.

Whitney Thompson drove in four runs for the Bulldogs as Lake Mills punished Eagles (0-1 overall) pitching with 15 base hits.

The Bulldogs (1-0 overall) held just a one run advantage until the fifth inning when they added three more runs for a 4-0 lead and added five more in the sixth for the 9-0 shutout.

&8220;We came to play,&8221; Bulldogs head coach Stacie Gaskill said. &8220;Even though we had eight girls, three starters, make it to state track, they came to play and were all on the same page.&8221;

Sabrina Roll led Lake Mills with three hits and five Bulldog hitters had multiple hits in the game.

&8220;I am excited for this season and the potential this team has,&8221; Gaskill said.
