The Lake Mills softball team eked out a 4-1 win over Osage Friday night in Lake Mills.

The Bulldogs defense wasn&8217;t as sound as it had been as they committed three errors in the field, but it was there in crucial spots.

With one out and one on in the seventh inning the Green Devils threatened, but Lake Mills&8217; outfielder Sammy Nelson made a diving catch in the gap and threw to first base to double up Osage and end the game.

Nelson also added a base hit in the game as Lake Mills moved to 4-1 on the season and earned its first North Iowa Conference win.

Jessica Lee limited the Green Devils to five hits and struck out four over seven innings to get the win.

Osage actually out hit the Bulldogs 5-4 but Lake Mills made the most of its opportunities as four hitters collected an RBI in the game.
