Highway 218 project begins

BLOOMING PRAIRIE &8212; A pavement resurfacing and culvert replacement project began Tuesday on Highway 218, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The project is in Mower County from the junction of Interstate 90 to the line for Dodge and Steele counties at Blooming Prairie. Initial work will be culvert replacements and repairs. Other work includes road resurfacing, guardrail replacement and signs.
Motorists will experience intermittent lanes closures, with traffic controlled by flaggers. Construction should be completed in mid-July, weather permitting.
Crane Creek Asphalt of Owatonna was awarded the project with a bid of $3.36 million.
