Tigers win streak ends at five

The Albert Lea ninth-grade baseball saw its five game winning streak come to an end May 16 against Winona with a 6-2 loss at the Hammer Stadium Complex.
The Tigers managed two runs on 10 hits leaving eight runners on base.
Aaron Klatt led the Tigers, going 4-for-4. David Enstad went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Carter Kortan took the loss, going all seven innings.
He recorded five strikeouts, four walks and scattered seven hits. Kortan is now 3-2 on the season.
On May 17, the Tigers visited Austin at the Riverland Community College Complex for a doubleheader.
Albert Lea won the first game 19-3. The Tigers had 19 runs on 19 hits and recorded 11 stolen bases.
Josh Eisenbraun led the attack going 3-for-4 with four RBIs, Carter Kortan went 3-for-5 with two RBIs, J.T. Bellrichard went 3-for-4, A.J. Dugstad 3-for-3 and Jake Jensen 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
Cole Sorenson (4-1) got the win. He went five innings, striking out eight, walked two and scattered five hits. He also helped his cause with a two-run shot over the left field fence in the second inning.
The Tigers scored 14 runs on 15 hits to defeat Austin 14-3 in the second game.
Josh Eisenbraun led again going 4-for-4 with five RBI.
David Enstad went 2-for-3, Carter Kortan went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Cole Sorenson 3-went-3 and AJ Dugstad went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Cameron Solie (2-0) got the win.
He went four innings, giving up three hits, gave up five walks and striking out three.
The Albert Lea Freshman Baseball team ended its season on May 20 taking two games in a round robin tourney at Rochester Century High School.
