Brandon Boekelman graduates

Brandon Boekelman, of Albert Lea, graduated cum laude from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Fla., at the spring commencement ceremony held May 5. Brandon received a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering with a minor in math.

Boekelman received the following honors.

Honors Program: ERAU admits 4 percent of incoming students into the honors program. Honors graduates have maintained the required grade-point average over four years and have completed all honors courses required by the program.

Sigma Gamma Tau: a National Honor society for aerospace engineering, recognizing outstanding academic achievement through its membership.

Tau Beta Rho: an engineering honor society dedicated to honoring those with high moral character who excel in any discipline of engineering.

Society for Collegiate Journalists: a national honor society that recognizes achievements in the area of collegiate mass communication.

Omicron Delta Kappa: a national leadership society whose members represent ideals of leadership in fraternity and sorority systems.

After an internship at Boeing in Seattle last summer, Boekelman accepted a position with Boeing working as an engineer at the Renton, Wash., site.

He is a 2004 graduate of Albert Lea High School and is son of Ron and Sandi Boekelman of Albert Lea.
