There were at least a dozen places spraypainted throughout Albert Lea overnight Wednesday. Albert Lea Police Chief Dwaine Winkels said the spraypainting was a result of several groups of young people in town. Police reports indicated that a juvenile was reportedly witnessed getting out of a car on Fourth Street near the Ramsey School and spraypainting at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday. The individual left in a light-colored vehicle and was last seen going northbound on Newton Avenue. One place that had already reported that it was spraypainted early Thursday morning was Burger King. Look to the Tribune for more information about the influx of spraypainting. Winkels anticipated that the police department would probably be receiving calls about it all day.
