With school out for summer there are more children running around area communities. You see them walking, running, cycling, skating and even skipping. You see them dashing into the streets chasing balls or crossing the streets chasing after friends.

They don’t always see you.

Slow down. It’s summer. You needn’t be in such a hurry to get to your destination. Be sure to watch for children. Practice defensive driving.

And while you are at it, watch out for the local ducks, too. They bring charm to neighborhoods.
