Paul Kortz, the some of Jerry and Bennie Kortz of Albert Lea, has been named coordinator of FertilityCare for OSF St. Francis Women’s Services. He served as president of the American Academy of FertilityCare Professionals when the annual meeting was held in Rome in June.
He and other health-care professionals from around the world attended the conference. He spoke on the application of natural procreative technology, which is based on the Creighton Model FertilityCare System. That model is generally about noticing the natural signs of a women’s fertility cycle to avoid or achieve pregnancy and monitor gynecological health.
It is the first time the conference has been held outside of North America.
After the conference, he serves one year as immediate past president. He was appointed to the board of the FertilityCare Centers of America in early 2007, a lifetime appointment.
OSF St. Francis Women’s Services is at the Center for Health in Peoria, Ill. OSF stands for Order of St. Francis.
Kortz is a 1994 graduate of the St. Francis College of Nursing. His wife’s name is Karen. They have five children. He is pursuing a master’s degree in nursing.
