Albert Lea Tribune photojournalist Brie Cohen’s photo of McKenzie Wondra running to her father’s arms when the soldiers came back from Kosovo on Thursday, July 10 was named Photo of the Month by Editor & Publisher magazine. Editor & Publisher is based in New York and calls itself the oldest journal covering the newspaper industry.

The photo was selected from all the photos taken across the country.

The image will be featured in the August issue of the magazine along with Cohen’s name, the Albert Lea Tribune’s name, the photo and a short story about how Cohen got the image. The issue is scheduled to publish July 28.

Cohen’s image will automatically be entered into Editor & Publisher’s Photo of the Year competition.
