Iowa woman dies in I-35 crash

One person is reported dead as a result of the head-on collision Friday night on southbound Interstate 35.
According to Minnesota State Patrol reports, June M. Modlin, 54, of Iowa Falls, Iowa — who had earlier been reported as in critical condition — died at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
An updated Minnesota State Patrol report at 9 p.m. Saturday stated Modlin had died.
The incident occurred after a 2007 Ford pickup and a 2001 Ford pickup collided at 7:57 p.m. Friday near the Minnesota-Iowa border.
Andy J. Kuibena, 35, of Maplewood, driver of the 2007 Ford pickup is listed in critical condition today, according to a Mayo Clinic spokeswoman in Rochester.
No information is available on Teagin J. Sunde, 11, a passenger in the 2001 Ford pickup, the Mayo Clinic spokeswoman added.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the 2007 Ford was traveling northbound on I-35 when it crossed the median and collided head-on with the 2001 Ford.
Modlin was a passenger in the 2001 Ford.
Thomas Merklin, the driver of the 2001 Ford, did not sustain any apparent injuries, according to the State Patrol report.
