A disaster drill is currently taking place within the city of Albert Lea. This drill is being conducted by Freeborn County Emergency Management, Albert Lea Medical Center, Freeborn County and Albert Lea City Law Enforcement, Freeborn County public Health, Freeborn County Red Cross and Freeborn County Fire Association Departments along with other nearby mutual aid services and agencies.

The drill is being held in the area of the old Farmland site and the Front Street extension. Traffic is being diverted from this area during the drill. There will also be a simulated evacuation of nearby homes and businesses in that area.

The public is asked to use alternate routes during this drill. The drill is expected to run from approximately 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
