Letter must be from a radical left-winger

In response to Ted Hinnenkamp’s letter to the editor printed in the Sept. 7 Sunday paper, I would like to say: “Ted, you must be worried! Sarah Palin’s speech was a refreshing breath of fresh air! It gave us conservative right-wingers something to cheer about. We would say the viciousness — not so cheerful — is coming against her from the left. If you come on the political scene today with an honest desire to serve the people of our great country rather than the political machine and the left-wingers, the very vicious radical left is going to come at you with teeth barred ready to tear you apart. I never heard of Salon magazine nor Glenn Greenwald that you mentioned. He is apparently trying to make a name for himself as one of those radical left-wingers.

If you want a good example of viciousness, read Garrison Keillor’s columns. He disrespects our president, vice president, senator, and all others who have done an amazing job of preventing another  9/11 attack on this country. He should be thanking them (and our men and women in the military) for their work in our behalf? Keillor needs to go back to Lake Wobegon and stay away from criticizing those who are out there on the firing line trying to lead our country.“

Regarding the cartoon in Sunday’s paper — I haven’t heard anyone blaming the poor Democrats for Sarah Palin’s daughter’s pregnancy. Why print such a stupid cartoon? The “artist” didn’t even put his name on it.

Editor’s note: The artists always put their names on the cartoons. They often use one name, like how Charles Schulz would write “Schulz” in all the “Peanuts” cartoons. In the Sept. 7 political cartoon, look in the upper right corner. It says “Bagley” and it says “The Salt Lake Tribune.” Pat Bagley draws for the Salt Lake Tribune.
